The highly addictive Need for Speed video game series is launching the first racing MMO – Need For Speed World. John Doyle, Need for Speed World’s Senior Producer, calls the project “a completely new experience for speed junkies all over the world.” “We have expanded Need for Speed’s classic adrenaline fueled racing with an all-new power up system and deep RPG style progression to create a truly massive, socially-connected white-knuckle Need for Speed experience.”
The closed beta is expected to run for the next few months to allow many need for speed fanatics the opportunity to test the upcoming MMO prior to launching to the public. Want to be a part of the closed beta? Click Here! [link to EA Need for Speed World page]
I have submitted my application for the beta; crossing my fingers I get accepted.
Hi gang. The holidays are over and the Tools are ready to rock your socks off with all new episodes in 2010. We feel extra sorry for the long break so we recorded an extra long episode to satisfy your addictive personality. A lot has transpired in the two months we took off since our last episode so without further adieu here are the show notes from this episode.
We spend the first little bit of the episode chewing the fat about what we all were doing on the break and what transpired over the holidays. Reverend Jew Jeans has a brand new girlfriend…and then he told us that she will be in Hawaii for the next five months. (lucky him) So Jewbles will report on the wonders of Hawaii over the next few months because he is going to go and visit quite often. As for the rest of us we remain on par with where we were last year. Consistency is key people. Kurt did announce another podcast that he started along with a co-worker for the upcoming Gaming and Consumer Electronics Expo GEEX. You should also subscribe to that podcast; here are the details.
GEEX rss feed link (you can subscribe to iTunes or any other feed tracker with this address)
We spend the remainder of the podcast discussing notable events and occurrences from the year 2009. We break into the world of mystery and the unknown with predictions of 2010. Then we finish you off with predictions for the year 3010. In each segment of predicting 2010 we look at what you can expect to see in the world of celebrity, movies and the opening box office totals, and sports. Fun is had by all and Jewbles doesn’t fall asleep. So put your headphones on and download episode 7 to your trusty rusty ipod or getto blaster as we take a trip into the future. While you are here let us know how you feel about the direction of the podcast and or what you would like to have the tools talk about or share our opinions on. And if you can spare a couple of minutes in your day go into your iTunes store and rate the program and leave us a comment there too. And as long as we are asking you do to stuff for us, share the podcast with someone new. With Love, The Four Tools
So call me a slacker….I know we recorded this episode over a month ago and I am finally posting it to the website. A lot has happened since we recorded episode 6 in all three glorious parts. School is finally on break for the semester, Professor Jewbles has a girlfriend, and Real Salt Lake won the MLS Championship, and the world falls in love with a sparkly vampire and an underage super athletic warewolf. So enjoy this seemingly outdated episode of the Four Tools Podcast. In this episode you will hear:
How loud can Reverend Jew Jeans snore because his girlfriend kept him up all night to watch “movies”
Carter comes on to talk about his award winning video and who is favorite bad guy is (Part 1)
Becky shares her love of the new movie New Moon and that she will always root for team Edward (Part 2)
FTPC reveals that we will always root for team Edward Scissor Hands (part 2)
The Utah Symphony can play video game music really well but they don’t seem to like the riff raff. (Part 3)
So enjoy this episode in all of it’s lemon fresh goodness. We will be back soon with an all new episode of the Four Tools Podcast. Remember to share the Tools with your friends and neighbors this holiday season…the gift that keeps on giving. Kind of like the cheese of the month club. We need your support, comments, and episode suggestions. Let us know what you think about the website re-design….and comment sucka!
Have something you want to get off your chest? Well give us a call at 801-923-8720 and say whatever you want….who knows we might air your call on the next podcast recording.

Happy Halloween to you all. Halloween is probably my favorite holliday so I was very excited to make Halloween the featured topic of this episode of The Four Tools Podcast. In this hair raising episode The Four Tools are without Scott who was out having fever nightmares but are pleased to be joined by Katie and Becky. . . and newborn baby Oliver. And since Halloween is really for the kids (and adults that do not want to grow up) little girl Lizzy shares some of her favorite things about Halloween. After the Tools talk about the goings on from last week and stare in wonder at Roberts beard the Halloween talk begins. Here are some of the things you will hear:
The Best and Worst Halloween Candy…no Karen Carpenter is not a candy.
Are Haunted Houses worth going to when you have graduated High School?
What are the Tools favorite Halloween movies?
Are there ghosts and are they trying to communicate with us?
Is the woman in Poltergeist haunting your nightmares?
So enjoy this Haunted Halloween special edition of The Four Tools Podcast.
Be sure to subscribe to the B side of The Four Tools Podcast so you can get additional footage not included in the edited version. We also upload our own user created content to the B-side in addition to the podcast. So tell your friends to join in on the single greatest guilty pleasure since caramel apples.
